The objective of this study is to identify the most valued factors for potential bicycle users in work trips and to evaluate the impact of implementing different measures to improve the use of bicycle. The employees of Companhia Riograndense de Saneamento (CORSAN) were used as case study, in the city of Porto Alegre, through a stated preference survey. Ordered logit models were used to estimate the probability of using the bicycle in different scenarios. The results showed that the implementation of locker rooms, bicycle parking, bike sharing systems, training for employees and the presence of bike paths for access to CORSAN, encourage bicycle use. The availability of locker rooms proved to be the most important variable. The joint implementation of locker rooms, bicycle parking and bike sharing systems would increase demand by 65%. The adopted procedures could be easily applied in other contexts by expanding research of this nature.Downloads
